Elizabeth McArthur Helton, a cherished matriarch and esteemed registered nurse, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2024, at the age of 98 in Plant City, FL. Born on March 1, 1926, in Tampa, FL, Elizabeth was known for her love and dedication throughout her life.
Elizabeth dedicated 44 years of her life as a Registered Nurse at St. Luke's Hospital in Jacksonville, where she touched countless lives with her expertise and compassion. Her commitment to her profession was paralleled only by her love for quilting, a craft through which she stitched warmth and beauty into the fabric of her community.
She was the cherished matriarch of a family that revered her. Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joshua Marvin, her devoted children, Paul Robert Helton and Jean Helton, her father Maurice Marion McArthur, her mother Virginia Irene Martin, and her brothers Richard Marion McArthur and David McArthur. She leaves behind her loving son David Marvin Helton, her caring sister Susan Howell, and her dear sisters-in-law Nita and Lynda.
Elizabeth's life was a living example of the words of Mother Teresa, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." Her legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Elizabeth's memory will be forever cherished, and her presence deeply missed. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Elizabeth.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park. 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
